Though the track “Black Tongue,” from The Hunter has already made its presence known, “Curl Of The Burl,” will be the first official single from the album and will be digitally released worldwide on August 16th through all digital music retailers. A video for the track will be filmed in the near future.

The physical configurations for The Hunter, which will be released by Reprise Records on September 27th, are as follows:

Standard CD includes the album’s 13 tracks, plus a basic Augmented Reality Experience in which the users head becomes the ‘creature’ on the album’s front cover in full 3D.

“Volkswagen Virtual Golf Cabriolet” in Mobile and iPad Augmented Reality App

The Golf Cabriolet is finally back after 9 years of absence, since production stopped in 2002 after 23 years of success.

Amongst all brands and types, soft-tops have always enjoyed a significant attraction and the challenge still remains to present the latest vehicles as quickly as possible for the general public to discover and enjoy.

The Agency  “Agence .V.”  has thought hard of a most efficient way to put the new model on show at dealers although it is not yet available. They came up with the use of Augmented Reality. This is how it now possible to discover the new version of this old favorite.

In the dealer’s showroom, visitors are either invited to upload the Volkswagen Virtual Golf Cabriolet application on their iPhone or a Smartphone (iPhone and Android), or the authorized dealer provides them with an iPad with the application already loaded.

Once the application is launched the user is able to view and experience the vehicle as if it on site. A wealth of possibilities is offered, such as opening the roof, turning the car, checking details, changing the body colour or the style of the rims.

Offering the opportunity to virtually display the new Golf Cabriolet in full size from a Smartphone is an innovation which requested, from Total Immersion, beyond the limit technologies in Augmented Reality.

“Promoting a legendary model such as the Golf Convertible for its revival through our Augmented Reality technology has been a really exciting challenge because it represents the first Augmented Reality car showroom on iPad2 in the world.” says Bruno Uzzan, CEO of Total Immersion.

This application fully created by C4M has also been developed for the experience to be triggered from various supports including, press advertising, postal card and internet web site.

Available on french Appstore (iPhone/iPad 2) and Android Market .

German Online Retailer Mister Spex chooses Total Immersion’s TryLive Eyewear Solution for 3D Glasses Fitting

As of now, visitors to the Mister Spex website, the largest online shop in Germany for designer glasses, for the first time can try on glasses in 3D with use of a webcam. The company hopes that buying glasses online will now be even more of shopping experience for the customer.
“A recently carried out market research study has shown us that 80% of people who wear glasses want to see how they look in them” explains Thilo Hardt, founder and Product Manager of Mister Spex. “Our customers are now able to do this with the 3D fitting. Using a webcam, the customer can see a real picture of themselves wearing the glasses in 3D.” The image of the glasses follows the head’s movements so that it is almost like looking in a mirror. The customer can also alter the colour and model of the glasses.

“The development of the 3D fitting is an important step for online retailers. In the future, it will be impossible to imagine the industry without this technology” says Hardt. Mister Spex launched the virtual fitting tool in conjunction with the French firm Total Immersion, who are the international leaders in the development of augmented reality applications. With this kind of fitting, the online optician is one of the forerunners in e-commerce innovation, as up until now, similar applications have not been very widely used.

A beta version of the “virtual mirror” is available on the Mister Spex homepage with a few sunglasses models. However, in the coming weeks around 700 glasses and sunglasses styles will be available in 3D. Eventually, the website’s online fitting will be entirely converted to 3D. Those who do not have a webcam however can try glasses on using a passport photo, without the 3D effect.

Several versions of the AR game “Manjouez!” have been released: Dragibus eaters can try to catch their favourite treats online on the main website or on Facebook or they can download the app on the Android Market or on the AppStore.

The online version developed by Total Immersion and Innovae Vision uses movement detection and tracking: players catch candies with their hand and put them in a bag to score. The challenge will be online until the end of August.

Total Immersion’s partner C4M developped the smartphone version. The game is truly immersive as the player has the sensation to have candies flying all around him.  The Smartphone version is available for the French territory only.
