Total Immersion Announces D’Fusion 3.0 : Latest Version of Leading Augmented Reality Software Platform

Latest Version of Leading AR Software Platform Features D’Fusion Mobile

LOS ANGELES and PARIS (October 14, 2010) – Total Immersion (www.t-immersion.com), the global leader in augmented reality (AR), today announced the immediate availability of its D’Fusion 3.0 software platform.

The move comes in response to market demand for AR technologies that can be deployed on smartphones and other mobile devices.  New with D’Fusion 3.0 is an adaptation of Total Immersion’s patented Marker Less Tracking technology for mobile platforms, D’Fusion Mobile.  D’Fusion 3.0 also supports new types of natural interfaces for users – such as motion detection – thereby enhancing PC applications.

D’Fusion Mobile facilitates development of robust AR applications on OS mobile devices – principally iPhone OS and Android.  With the new platform, users can experience “lightweight” AR applications on smartphones that deliver virtually identical functionality to those available on desktop PCs, while accessing such smartphone-specific capabilities as GPS, accelerometer and compass.

D’Fusion 3.0 similarly brings extensive support for new natural interfaces, designed to foster development of ever-more immersive projects and to strengthen branding within specific AR campaigns :

“The user has always been at the heart of the augmented reality experience, and now, we’ve made it easier for people to interact with AR applications in a more natural fashion – and that makes AR even more engaging,” said Bruno Uzzan, co-founder and CEO, Total Immersion.  “D’Fusion 3.0 is the most comprehensive collection of AR technologies to date, whether on mobile devices or on PCs, from marketing to games to fashion to education, and beyond.  It offers a compelling response to new developments and new opportunities in e-business and m-commerce.”

D’Fusion 3.0 will be showcased during AR Immersion 2010 on Nov. 9 in Los Angeles:  Information and Registration here.
