Total Immersion unveils the future of AR marketing at The Gadget Show Live

Total Immersion will be showcasing the latest in augmented reality (AR) marketing at the UK’s biggest consumer electronics show, The Gadget Show Live.

Global leaders in AR, Total Immersion will showcase a range of new AR experiences at the Gadget Show’s Future Tech Zone between 7-11 April.  The event, which takes place at the NEC Birmingham, is expected to attract more than 60,000 visitors over an extended five-day period.

The Future Tech Zone, a new exhibition for this year, will feature a small number of elite businesses, manufacturers and academics presenting their futuristic creations, from the realms of augmented reality, robotics and brain controlled devices.

Total Immersion’s UK Sales Director, Myles Peyton, said: “AR will truly come of age over the next few years and big brands are already realising its potential as a means of engaging with their customers in new and exciting ways. In 2009 Total Immersion delivered more than 270 projects around the world”

“Visitors to our stand will be able to try out the latest applications for outdoor advertising, retail POS, online, publishing and mobile, as well as experience groundbreaking AR campaigns,” he explains.

“These include K’nex, where a boxed toy is literally brought to life in the palm of your hand; Transformers 2, which turns movie fans into transformers; and Citroen, where you can explore a new car inside and out, change its colour and see it drive – all in 3D, using a brochure and a web cam,” Myles said.

“One of the main highlights for visitors will be football collectables, Topps Match Attax cards, which will allow them to play a 3D goal kicking game with football star, Wayne Rooney.

“Our exhibit at The Gadget Show Live gives us the opportunity to show people where AR might be taking them in the year ahead. It will definitely be an experience not to be missed,” Myles added.

Total Immersion will be exhibiting alongside event partners, Pimento (7-8 April), Wonderworks (9 April) and Augmented Experience (10-11 April).

Matt Hodgins, Event Director for The Gadget Show Live added: “The new Future Tech Zone at The Gadget Show Live has been created based on feedback from visitors last year. It will be an immense experience, providing visitors with a glimpse of the future and the ability to find out more directly from the inventors and creators. We’re delighted Total Immersion will be showing their AR creations as part of this Zone.”
